The ORELA program now includes the following new tests,
which are available beginning with the October 4, 2008, administration:
- Administrator Examination (two subtests)
- Civil Rights and Equity in the Educational Environment Examination
- English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Examination (two subtests)
For information about licensure testing requirements, refer to "
Who Is Required to Take the Tests?" or contact
the TSPC (see "
Contact Information").
Test frameworks for these tests are available by selecting “
Test Frameworks” on the ORELA Web site. Study
guides for these fields are available by selecting “
Study Guides” on
the ORELA Web site.
The TSPC will set passing standards for these new examinations in spring 2009. If you take one of these
tests/subtests at the October 4, 2008; December 6, 2008; or February 7, 2009, test administration, your test scores
will not be reported, but you will be eligible to receive participation credit in fulfillment of the testing
requirement. Instead of a score report, a letter will be mailed to you approximately four weeks after the test
administration indicating whether or not you have met the passing requirements. To meet the passing requirements,
you must complete all parts of the test/subtest AND you must answer a minimum number of test items correctly. If
you meet these passing requirements, the letter you receive can be used to verify fulfillment of the testing
requirement. If you do not meet these requirements, you will not be given credit for taking the test and you
will be required to register again and retake the test/subtest.
Please note that score reports for the April 18, 2009, administration of these new tests may be delayed due to
standard-setting activities and determination of passing scores by the TSPC.
